I’ve read in Det Gode Budskap about Christian Science, so maybe it is a good time to learn what Christian Science is all about. There seems to be a sentiment that it is something which is not in harmony with the teachings of Christ, and that it is something vague and lacking in substance; but no one seems to know what it actually is.

Christian Science is a teaching about perfection—that we are perfect, like Christ after the resurrection, or like God in eternity. Consequently, a person gets out of everything that would require tribulation, denying oneself and abstaining from the fleshly lusts. The eternal God has no afflictions; therefore they have no afflictions; God has no sufferings, therefore they have no sufferings; He is not tempted, therefore they are not tempted, just like Christ after the resurrection. This false spirit is crafty, and all who are not thoroughly rooted in the Rock will be deceived and drawn away by it. This spirit hates suffering, affliction and anything that leads to the destruction of the flesh. It sees itself as perfect like Christ was perfect after the resurrection, or like God is, in eternity.

However, a priest in the 14th century also expressed this as being “just human nature.” This teaching can be understood with our natural mind, even though it seems so spiritual, because this spirit is of the devil and he doesn’t understand the things of God, only the things of man. This spirit has not gotten here through the Mediator, but it has bypassed Him to go straight into perfection.

How can we prove that this spirit is the devil? Read 1 John 5:8 and you will see that there are three who bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and these three agree as one. The false spirit is not in agreement with the water and the blood; and because it claims to be perfect, we can therefore see that it is false. We are on the earth and therefore everyone who has the Spirit of God will have this witness within themself—verse 10.

With warm greetings.
