From Kristiansand
Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,

God’s grace and peace be multiplied to you in Jesus Christ our Lord.

“For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered”; this is also very true when it comes to writing and speaking. In times past, holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. That is also the way holy men of God speak today, moved by the Holy Spirit. God’s Spirit leads us to speak as the word of God, and since there is no partiality with God, this word of God will meet each one based on their spiritual condition. For some, the word will be unto judgment, for others unto life; and it is also mighty to pull down strongholds and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. If we speak in order to please men, then we are not bondservants of Christ, or if someone speaks in order to seek their own, then such a person is disqualified for the work of ministry.

God is an avenger of all unrighteousness. God is exact in every detail. He can not be fooled; because all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. He is a consuming fire over everyone who is rebellious and unrighteous; but for the humble and meek, He pours out abundant grace and mercy. God refines His elect in fiery furnaces, but He also draws them into His bosom with great mercy.

The sun contains both light and warmth. Here in the north, we have more light than warmth in the winter; but the light alone is not able to make the grass grow. If we imagine some plants growing in a dark, warm basement, these plants would grow long shoots, but it wouldn’t result in genuine growth. It is exactly the same in the spiritual realm. Some people only strive for light, and more light. They learn and learn, endlessly, but are never able to come to the acknowledgment of the truth; because the light they receive within is only darkness, and you can only imagine how great that darkness is. In other words, they do not seek light through God’s spirit of revelation, but rather by self-study and intellectual exertion.

On the other hand, there are those who grow up as shoots, spiritually speaking, that just blindly grope and reach out endlessly. Such people don’t want the light, because everything is so extremely good, just as it is.

However, the very best thing is to embrace light and warmth, just the way God sends them, because then we will experience strong and healthy growth in Christ Jesus.

If we want to see how it was for Paul, we can read in his second letter to the Corinthians, in chapter one, verses 3-13. He writes there about how he was continually in tribulations and was comforted in those tribulations, in order to comfort those who were in tribulations of every kind.

Dear brothers and sisters, it is so precious to be able to comfort those who are in all kinds of tribulations with the comfort with which we ourselves have been comforted. Then we can weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice. This kind of godly fear guides us so that we become a Jew for the Jew and a Gentile for the Gentile. It is well pleasing to God and profitable to men.

Just as sin previously compelled us, now it is the Spirit of God that compels us; and we know that the mind of the Spirit is peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. That is why we have a glorious future in store; because this Spirit is leading us from light to light, from strength to strength, from glory to glory, until we appear before God in Zion. Then we will have come to Him, who draws everyone to Himself, and that is sufficient for us. Amen.

A heartfelt greeting to all the brothers and sisters, those who are being led by the Spirit, while in this corruptible world—towards the incorruptible.
