I received your very good letter. Thank you very much. Selma arrived here last night from Arendal. We were just visiting Br. Berg who will be sailing out on the Viking on July 15. He is coming to Kristiansand later this month to help relocate the Viking to Horten. We were in Holmsbo last Sunday where a lot of friends were gathered from Kristiania, Moss, and the surrounding area. Erik said he had been on many trips, but never anything like this; because people were praying on their knees all over the deck. A German, who works among the women of ill repute in Hamburg, spoke with great earnestness and power and rejoiced over what he had seen in Kristiania. That afternoon, 33 people were baptized, including Br. Berg. They spoke in tongues out in the water. It rained all afternoon, so those of us from Horten found a room where we could gather, and we had our own meeting.
I hear you are thinking of coming here at the end of the month; you’re heartily welcome. It will be very nice to talk together face-to-face. I’ve heard that Father also wants to take a trip east this summer. It would be nice if he made the trip this summer while I’m at home.
If you want to preserve your peace, then you must keep yourself undefiled from the world. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. The ways of the Lord are wonderful ways; He is training us for the same goal.
Hope you will send a card to let us know when you are coming. All the best, and greet everyone at home. Selma sends a greeting. She says she wasn’t seasick.
Hearty greetings from your brother,
Johan
