Deeply united in our Savior Jesus Christ, who called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light.
Thank you for your very good letter. It is always a great joy to hear from you and to experience your love in the Spirit. May God reward you for your great faithfulness and give you grace to live constantly before Him and to always bring forth spiritual food from His table. We must close our eyes and ears to outward things and open the eyes and ears of our heart. In that way, we learn to discern between the precious and the vile.
The women just raffled off the bedspread, and they raised 90 kroner. There is still one more book that we have not received the money for. Like the other nine books, it should bring in an additional 10 kroner.
We’ve had quite a bit of trouble here with Br. Johannesen who, as you know, has succumbed to the devil’s drink. He has repeatedly tried to quit and turn back to God, but I doubt that anything has truly changed in his life. Yesterday he was in Tønsberg and signed on to join a whaling expedition to South Georgia for a period of two years, which will depart later this month. Pray for him.
Aksel was here last Sunday, and we had a wonderful conversation about testing—not the words, but the spirits.
Karl is making progress. He is like a thick covering over something glorious. Thank you for the exhortations in Ezek. 28:17 and Isa. 4:5. They are well worth taking to heart. Personally, I almost wish I could be by myself, way up in the attic, and just listen to my precious Lord and Master’s voice. My mind is entirely devoted to hearing that voice in the midst of the busyness of life. Pray for me that God will guide my way through life—especially now, concerning the choice between civilian employment and a permanent position in the Navy—so that everything can take place to God’s honor and for my true benefit, and so that I can draw even closer to the goal God has set for me.
It’s now almost 8:30 a.m. and I’ll be leaving for the office soon. I’ll close with a heartfelt greeting from your brother, increasingly united in the blood and in love,
