Dear Br. Theodor Ellefsen,
God’s peace.

Thank you for your good letter. It’s a great blessing to hear from different brothers that things are going well—in the middle of being out on neutrality patrols and not having the opportunity to talk in person. Warm greetings from Br. D. Kvalheim, who is growing in spiritual wisdom and understanding. He really wants to get the friends to start working with missionary outreach, like we are doing in Horten. There are several women here who need to be actively involved in the work. He came up with the idea on his own, and he is now really looking forward to starting the work. It could be necessary to do something so that the word of God can be spread, so that laborers can begin to work. And if not everyone is able to carry out a spiritual work, they can still work with their hands. It takes a long time to travel from place to place here in Norway, so money is necessary. When each town manages their own finances, they will have freedom and will feel at liberty to take action.

I met Br. Hågensen in Bergen; he had just come from Haugesund where he had spoken with Br. Risnes. These two brothers get along very well. We also met Br. Lohne (Johan) in Bergen. He has now had a change of heart and had some very zealous words for Korsets Seier, because they had published an article speaking against the destruction of sin in Christ’s flesh. He had been sick and said that in that time of quietness, he got light over these things.

The work is gaining ground, and God is fighting alongside us. The brothers in each place will soon need to be strengthened in faith by visits from a brother whom the Lord is calling to do so.

Br. Thorleif Hansen is now married to Dagny Brynildsen, a sister from Kristiania. The Tordenskjold has departed for Kristiansand. Lord willing, we will be returning to Ålesund on October 5. I haven’t heard anything from them since the last letter you read; I hope they are doing well.

Presumably you are coming south for Christmas. I would be happy if you could spend some time in Ålesund.

All the best.

Warm greetings,

Your brother,

Johan
