The Hidden Things Will Be Revealed

“For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.” Mark 4:22.

A person who passes from darkness to light will experience that this statement is true; and those who remain in darkness will also discover that it is true, on the day of reckoning.

Everything that is concealed is hidden so that it can come to light.

The day that the hidden things come to light, God will be glorified, and His judgment will be praised.

Why should secret things come to light? Would it not have been better if they had remained hidden for all eternity?

The secret things are also among the transgressions for which Christ died. They are among the judgments of God, which rested upon Christ as the sacrificial Lamb. When the full light of day shines on everything that the blood of Christ has power to cleanse us from, the light will expose as sin those things that have been kept secret. People who have hidden these things will have to bear their judgment and shame before God and before the people from whom they have hidden them.

Even if the person who kept things secret did not benefit from it, God’s power will, nevertheless, be revealed when He shows that He is able to bring the hidden things to light. The desire of His heart will also be revealed, because through Christ He has provided salvation from those hidden things; but men loved darkness rather than light. They covered their sin that was hidden in darkness until God caused the light of day to break the laws of darkness and bring the evil out from its hiding places—that evil which has caused so much suffering and sorrow for the innocent, those who have been the victims of all this hidden evil.

So if you are hiding anything, bring it into the light now, because the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God. Nothing that is hidden can be revealed without sufferings, but do not call them the sufferings of Christ. They are the sufferings that are required for you to be made clean. If you insist on calling them the sufferings of Christ, it’s only in the sense that they are His sufferings to win the body and not His sufferings in the body that lead to sanctification. If you are suffering because your brother has hidden something from you, it is your love for him that is suffering, because someone who is hiding something cannot fully reciprocate your love. These become the sufferings of Christ for you; but if your brother cleanses himself, his sufferings are the sufferings required to be made clean.

Throughout the ages, so much has been concealed that you would think there would not be enough darkness to hide it.

Just think about the power that is in the light. In spite of the enmity of darkness and its desire to keep things hidden, the light is not only able to illuminate all this enmity, it is also able to bring the hidden things to light and to judge them.

This exceeding greatness of power over Satan and his darkness is part of the power God worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places. Eph. 1:18-23.

The hidden things are hidden by the body and originate in the body, and they are carried out by the lusts of the body. However, by the cross these hidden things come into the light of day. The prince of darkness loses his power because he cannot bear the light of day. In the light, the hidden things are then judged and put to death by the blood of Christ.

What should you do? You should allow the hidden things to be brought into the light, and the blood of Christ will cleanse you from all sin.

You may ask: “But should everything that is hidden be brought into the light, and who should I reveal it to?”

The answer to this is: God Himself will point out the sacrifice and the person who is to slay the sacrifice. Everything must be done according to the promptings of the Spirit. If you are attentive and obedient, you will understand it. However, never bring your sacrifice like a slave, because then you have preserved your life behind your sacrifice. If you are a true son, your life must be in the sacrifice.

After you have cleansed yourself, the Spirit of wisdom will come upon you, as Sirach says. Light will give you victory over darkness, over its prince, and over its children. This light contains the power of the resurrection.

In this light and in this power of the resurrection, you can enter into the next type of sufferings, which are the sufferings of Christ. In these sufferings, sin in the flesh is condemned. These are not sufferings to cleanse us from sins that we have committed, but rather to cleanse us from indwelling sin, or the body of sin.

This indwelling sin is not the result of sins I have personally committed. Rather it is the sin inherited from our forefathers. So, we cannot say that it is hidden, because everyone should be able to admit that they have the law of sin in their members, with the exception of some very deluded people who believe that they are finished with all sin in the flesh—in spite of the fact that they sin daily.

Therefore, there is no condemnation for the sin that we have inherited. God will render to each one according to his deeds. Inherited sin is the sin that is lying at the door, and its desire is for us, but we should rule over it. Any sin that I rule over is my slave, the slave of Christ; but if sin rules over me, I am the slave of sin.

Think about these things. Be courageous enough to dare to think. Do not just go to your pastor and ask him to think for you, because most often you are his source of livelihood, and your bondage and darkness provide his income. When the wolf comes, the hireling flees. He cannot help you in your spiritual need.

Let us, as many as have received grace from God, labor to release those who are in bondage and to set the captives free. Most who have been taken captive and bound are guarded by a hireling. If you want to set them free, you will first have to fight against their prison guards. But they are not as dangerous as they make themselves out to be. One word of God can bind them.
