Dear Br. Theodor Ellefsen,
God’s peace.

Thank you very much for your good letter. I gather from reading it that you have had spiritual battles, but that you have once again broken through to victory. You asked whether you should explain in more detail what this battle was about. Dear brother, we all have many things to fight against. We must each wage our own battles and win our own victories. I don’t think all these battles should be revealed—unless we think someone can benefit from it, and that it is God’s will.

We had especially good meetings this time in Ålesund. In two of the meetings we had conversations about eating Christ’s flesh and drinking His blood. God revealed much to us through this. If we walk in the light, the light (judgment) will always shine on the middle wall of partition (sin in the flesh), the soul (the blood) will be poured out, and the flesh will be set free from sin. The blood and the flesh become pure. The enmity—the middle wall of separation—which is the sin in the flesh, is broken down. The blood of the eternal covenant comes forth. God jealously desires the spirit He caused to dwell in us. This spirit is made alive in purity once the testimony of the blood is present. The pure flesh that comes forth after the blood has flowed is the flesh of Christ’s resurrection. Such a complete resurrection is what Paul was longing for in Philippians 3. The Spirit is made alive, and the blood is the blood of Christ. The words He speaks to us are spirit and life. In the Spirit we then have Christ’s flesh, Spirit, and blood; in other words, body, soul, and spirit. Therefore it is written, “If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” If you eat His flesh. Notice that it says you. We are the ones who—according to the mind of the Spirit, which is peace and joy—are to eat this flesh of peace and drink the blood of peace and of the covenant. The more we eat and progress in this peace (“We who have believed do enter that rest”), the more we are made alive in the Spirit. The new man that comes forth is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. This new man, which has come forth after a complete death over sin in the flesh has taken place, has complete knowledge of good and evil, which was gained through the destruction of sin.

I greeted Br. Lohne yesterday, and I read two of your letters to him. Br. Peder Skram from Moldøen was baptized on a Sunday in Ålesund. The friends were gathered for that. There have been many problems here along the way. This shows that they need constant care, since they are unable to figure things out. There is a lack of true insight and full wisdom—wisdom in all things.

Wishing you the very best, dear brother. I received a letter from “Quartermaster 114.” Is that Tjørve? He writes well and very clearly.

Warm greetings from your brother,

Johan
