It had been such a long time since I received a letter from Ålesund that I was really getting concerned. So I am very happy to hear that you have been there and that everything is going well, and also that Sr. Willersrud is now with them again. Here in Vardø, there is already a small group of precious friends. God is blessing the work in every place more than I am able to keep up with. The opposers have been shaken to their very foundations. Br. Johan Lohne is always on the move. He was recently in the Hardanger Fjord area, together with Br. Gjerde and two sisters, where they went from house to house preaching Christ manifested in the flesh. It is really a joy to see the friends’ zeal in the different places. They are willingly sacrificing both time and energy for the work.

Regarding Skjulte Skatter: the cost of printing 1,500 copies each month has increased from 40-50 kroner to 110 kroner. For October, November, and December, we must make use of the central fund. We will be receiving income from subscriptions and the sale of bound volumes of Skjulte Skatter, but this likely is not going to be enough. In my last letter to Aksel, I asked him to put a hold on printing and distributing Skjulte Skatter, due to inflation, because soon the printing costs will be close to 200 kroner every month. Otherwise, he will need to encourage people to make donations in order to keep the publication going. However, I think he is just going to leave things as they are. God has blessed the effect that the paper has had. Up near the North Cape, in Tanafjord, there is a brother who received light through the paper, which is being sent to a retirement home up there. This brother visited Strømme in Vardø, and they melted together.

Well, now you have a bit of an overview of where things stand. Br. Ellefsen, who is with me on board, is considering traveling home to Grimstad for two weeks during Christmas; but he would like to visit Ålesund for two days and also spend two days in Moldøen on his way back. He expects to leave here at the end of November or in early December.

Many greetings to your family as well as to Br. Fugleseth.

Warm greetings from your brother,

J. O. Smith

God willing, we are going to travel south in approximately three weeks time.
