My Soul Breaks With Longing for Your Judgments at All Times

Psalm 119:20

How delightful God’s commandments are, how precious are His judgments. They train the children of God for eternal life, and they prove to be true and faithful from generation to generation. Those who devote themselves to God’s judgments and love His commandments receive wisdom from God. He binds their adversaries and causes their enemies to fear. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and it will also prove to be the fulfillment of wisdom.

The longing to be instructed is the first step on the way to wisdom. On that way, God’s judgments are pure light that help those who sit in darkness so that they find their way out of difficulties that they otherwise would have buckled under. God’s judgments are full of peace. Once you taste the sweetness of His commandments, your soul will break with longing to be able to continue pressing on toward perfection.

It was through the laws of God that those of old received understanding, and they are now renowned, in spite of the fact that they were despised by the people of their time. Even the successors of their enemies, who have the same mind, laud them in our day, despite having never understood what it was that made them great.

The laws of the Spirit—the eternal commandments—give life to our human spirit and form us into eternal beings that are of the same caliber as the spirits of just men made perfect. Heb. 12:23.

By walking according to the will of God, Christ partook of all the wisdom of God. That is why He is called: Christ, the wisdom of God. Now He is the way to the fountains of wisdom to which every person who longs for His judgments has access. His judgments are found in lowly places, among the lowly, so that no one can say that they were too difficult to find. Thus, you can find the will of God and the way to wisdom by turning away from things that are esteemed, because things that are great in this world have been made great by Satan. A deeper foundation has been laid—beneath the greatness of this world. One day, everything that is exalted will be judged on this foundation, to be tested by the light of God, before Him who has eyes like a flame of fire. Everything that is not in harmony with God’s laws will be broken down and consumed with fire.

Blessed is each one who has already learned to love His light and His will now, and who, by godly fear, practices His commandments. As eternal beings, such people will remain standing in the judgment, as will the laws of God, and then they will see the fall and destruction of those who opposed them.
