Dear Br. Elias Aslaksen,
God’s peace.

Thanks for the 7.80 kroner and the six subscriptions from Hedalen in Valdres. On Sunday, some friends from Kristiania and Horten met in Drøbak. It was a very edifying meeting. It was as if they came together with one heart and one soul to edify one another. Thorleif Hansen, Skiaker, Oldeide, Anna Pedersen, Elisabeth E., and a number of other sisters were there. Karl, Ellefsen, and I were there from Horten.

It is vital that we meet together. Br. Pettersen from Sarpsborg wrote that the friends from there would like to come here on a Sunday to speak together, sometime in the fall. When I mentioned this in Drøbak, they all wanted to come too. So we are thinking about renting a hall sometime in the fall and providing some refreshments as usual, so that the friends from the surrounding area can have the opportunity to come. What do you think? Actually, I know that this is the only thing that you desire.

Captain Smith-Johansen is going to advertise an opening for an additional teacher at Larvik’s Naval Academy this coming winter. The position is as a substitute for the regular teacher. The salary is most likely 1,000 kroner. The captain’s address is the “Torpedo Boat Department.” I’m not sure exactly which boat it is. I think it is the Sæl. I’m only writing this for your information. I don’t hear from Aksel very often. He is in Kristiansand, and he is mostly staying at Mrs. Hæstad’s place.

There are only two brothers left in Sarpsborg: Pettersen and Andresen.

Greet the friends and your wife.

Your devoted brother,

Johan
