Clothed With the Breastplate of Righteousness

Ephesians

Clothed With the Breastplate of Righteousness

Truth and righteousness are very closely related. The accusations of Satan “roll off” of personal righteousness like water off a duck’s back. The powers of darkness stand ready to attack us at the least sign of unrighteousness. How common it is in large factories and workshops for employees to snitch materials and make something for themselves—preferably during working hours—behind the backs of their supervisors; and those who work in retail stores greedily help themselves to the store owner’s stock of goods.

All such things are unrighteousness and give Satan power over the one who does them. Jesus said, “For the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in me.” He was entitled to say this because He was clothed with the breastplate of righteousness. Would that the same thing could be said of us when Satan tries to sift us like wheat!
