Simple Faithfulness

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. In His trials, He allowed Himself to be sanctified in the truth. He learned to recognize the will of God and bound Himself to it. As a result, His senses were exercised. Jesus experienced that being obedient to the Word God placed in His heart was the best thing He could do. When God leads us into tribulation, He has only good thoughts toward us. He will not place an extra burden on us in any temptation. If we keep our calling before us, we will be sanctified in the truth. God’s Word comes to us, and we remain standing firm and unshakable as Mount Zion. If we think first about earthly things, we will be deceived.

“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” 1 Pet. 2:24-25.

Deception enters in when a person gives priority to earthly things or his own body. That is why people do not experience true healing. God’s Word says that we must live for righteousness. If we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, we will receive the earthly things according to the will of God. Then everything we earn will be a blessing that we plow back into God’s work. It is wrong to seek earthly things first and have our minds full of them! We must die to our sins, and we preach death over the lusts and desires in our body. When spiritual things truly come first in our life, everything else comes into order.

We must be totally liberated from sin and its power. This message must be declared with power in our gatherings, week after week, year after year. Then it makes an impression. If you sin, don’t blame it on physical sickness or weakness. You don’t have to get angry, even if you are sick. Weakness exposes some of the sin in the flesh. That is not divine nature. You must be saved from this even when you are weak.

Every topic in the Word of God points to one thing: It is God’s will that we come to divine nature. Study this main subject. Come to faith in it, and give yourself completely to it. Then God’s Word will come to you, and He will reveal Himself to you. If you live a God-fearing life, that life will blossom for you and for your family. There is no respect of persons with God. Everything in God’s kingdom goes according to the laws of life.
