Shepherd and Prophet

The Heavenly Life

“And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Pet. 1:19-21.

The Word must become flesh so we can behold the glory of God. As shepherds and prophets, it is first and foremost through our life that we lead others to a good life. The life is the light of men. John 1:4. Jesus too, began by practicing the Word; then He began to teach. Acts 1:1. You can stray a long way from the life of Christ if you seek your own and allow your self-life to live. The effects of such a ministry are horrible.

Many things in the church have had a long development. It became apparent that many people had been with us throughout the years without having an upright desire to be a disciple. God dealt with them in the revival that began in 1991. At that time it became evident that they had been among us, but were not of us. “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.” 1 John 2:19. There is no sense in trying to get such people back again. As long as they have no desire to be true disciples who hate their own life, they desire something different than we do and thus are like sand in the machinery. All the “tormentors” and “guard dogs” from my youth are gone, and none of them received grace to grow up as ministers of the Lord.
