The Entire City Was Excited Because of Them

Naomi came with a soul from the land of Moab, a soul that had left her own people, her gods, and her country to possess the land to which she had come, to be one with this people and to serve their God as her God. Was it too much to expect that the entire city would be excited? Isn’t such a soul precious and dear in God’s eyes, and is there not joy in heaven over each sinner who repents? Of course! There is joy in heaven and joy in the church over each one who has forever forsaken Moab and has advanced all the way to the house of bread (the body).
