She Arose

“Then she arose with her daughters-in-law and returned from the land of Moab, for she had heard in the land of Moab that the Lord had visited His people and had given them bread.” V. 6.

When tribulations become hard in the land of Moab where you live as a foreigner, when the chastening of the Lord surrounds you like a flood, a longing will arise in you for your native country just as the Prodigal Son experienced it.

Need forced Naomi to return. Tribulations forced her, and the news of bread enticed her.

How infinitely great is God’s love for us as human beings. Even though we become offended, withdraw from the judges and flee to a foreign land, He still seeks us out among the Moabites. He afflicts us with all kinds of tribulations so that we might arise and return to Judah, for it is not His desire that we should remain in Moab as foreigners, since we are His special people.
