You Have Shown More Love at the End Than at the Beginning, In That You Did Not Go After Young Men

God’s love for us is one thing, but our love for Him is something entirely different. God has shown His love for us by offering His Son for us while we were yet sinners, but we show our love for God by keeping His commandments.

Boaz valued Ruth’s love immensely, just as God highly values our love for Him. Ruth showed her love by not going after the young men.

For a young woman “young men” are the lusts of the flesh. We show our love for God and His Son Jesus Christ by not walking according to our lusts. That is what it means to keep His commandments and to love Him. This imparts the knowledge of God and His wisdom to a soul. What a glorious reward that is for not going after the “young men.”
