Sit Still, My Daughter, for the Man Will Not Rest until He Has Concluded the Matter This Day

Verse 18

We can be still when the matter has been placed into God’s hand, for He will not rest before He has concluded the matter today.

Naomi had been absent for many years and had just returned. Nevertheless, despite her long absence, she knew Boaz quite well. This proves that Boaz must have been a just man and a servant of the Lord for many years. What an unshakable confidence she had in him!

Just think if God had many such faithful servants on earth today. Then there wouldn’t be so many unsettled court cases. Let us bring our matters to a conclusion. Be upright; put all the information on the table so we can see and judge clearly. Let us win when we are judged. God will judge those who are on the outside. Let us judge what is within, for the time has come that judgment will begin at the house of God—with us. All of us have something to judge, and if we judged ourselves we would not be condemned together with the world. Let us walk in the light just as He is in the light. Then we will have fellowship with each other, and the blood of His Son, Jesus, will cleanse us from all sin.

Be still if you have a case pending. If your case is clean, then you will triumph over judgment; but if you have already been judged in your conscience, then acquiesce in the judgment, and it will turn to righteousness.

If there are other difficulties, God will take care of them according to His understanding and for your best, even though your flesh will not always like it.
