I Will Inform You in Your Hearing and Say: Buy Back the Piece of Land in the Presence of the Inhabitants and the Elders of My People!

Verse 4

Boaz was a just man. He did not want to pass over the first redeemer. This was a sign of a humble mind. Even though the other redeemer was not spiritual, Boaz did not take away his right as a redeemer. This testified of a good sense for the laws of the Spirit.

What you did was right, dear Boaz, for you have forever stopped the mouth of that redeemer. He will never be able to say, “You, Boaz, are a thief; you passed me over; I was the nearest redeemer, and you have stolen all that for yourself.”

Never be conceited; do not act presumptuously. Wait on the Lord, and give everyone his due. Then God Himself will see to it that you will receive your appointed portion.

Learn from David! Samuel anointed David, and the Spirit of the Lord came over him. 1 Sam. 16:13. In the next verse we read that the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him.

One could believe that David was now on top in relation to Saul, but he wasn’t. We read about David that he behaved wisely in all his ways, and the Lord was with him.

In the next verse it says that when Saul saw that David behaved very wisely, he was afraid of him.

If you want your opposers to be afraid of you, then you should behave very wisely. That is what Boaz did; therefore he was heard in the gate.
