Where Do You Put Your Hand?

Where Do You Put Your Hand?

“Furthermore the Lord said to him, ‘Now put your hand in your bosom.’ And he put his hand in his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, like snow.” Ex. 4:6. This tells us that everything that comes from ourselves is impure. God shows us our leprosy before He can use us; He shows us our impurity. Now we know what dwells in us; now we know that we cannot expect anything good from these quarters. Let us keep our hands away. We cannot do anything of ourselves.

When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed. Ex. 17:11. The hand of faith raised toward heaven brings victory! Now we know what comes from heaven. When we stretch out our hand toward God, His hand will reach out to us, and we can say with Moses: “A hand is stretched out from the throne of the Lord.” Ex. 17:16.

Stretch out your hand toward God!
