Sanctification by the Spirit

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14

Our human spirit must be sanctified. You can often see certain sins that visibly characterize different families. They are strong and stubborn human spirits, weak and compliant, lazy and slothful, ambitious and strident spirits, etc. They must be sanctified so they can bear the image of Christ. To acknowledge the truth about our own human spirit takes deep humility. Only by believing the truth can we partake of sanctification.

Without sanctification no one will see the Lord. Heb. 12:14. No one will be in the bride unless his spirit has lost the human character impressed on it by sin and has gained Jesus’ image.

The city that comes down from heaven is the bride, and the throne of God and the Lamb are in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. From the above we infer that the bride will see the Lord, but the nations will walk in the light of the city. Rev. 21:2-3, 9, 10, 22, 24; Rev. 22:3-5.
