“Be Not Lukewarm in Your Zeal”

A person could think that when he is zealous he is definitely not lukewarm, but we cannot rely on that.

We can have a kind of lukewarm zeal instead of having a fervent zeal.

All in all, it is very easy to think that your state is better than it really is.

One particular reason for this is that God Himself is so fervent in His love for us that it far surpasses all comprehension and understanding, and that He desires an absolutely fervent love from us in return.

When we, according to our poor standard, think we are quite warm, we are possibly just barely lukewarm according to His standard. Our calling, however, is to be boiling hot in our love for Him!

According to Revelation 3:16 we will be rejected if we are lukewarm. May God have mercy on us all!
