“In Him There Is No sin”

“You know that He was manifested to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin.” 1 John 3:5.

When we are so careless as to read x for y, or “to bear” for “shall come to bear,” or “is” for “was,” we can rest assured that it is not easy to find the true meaning. I regret to say that I have come across that “method” of reading more than once.

When John wrote this epistle, Christ had arisen and was at the Father’s right hand. There is no sin in Him; but in the days of His flesh it was true that He bore our sins in His flesh, in His body. Rom. 8:3; 1 Pet. 2:24.
