The Two Main Reasons for Opposition

1. You are not willing to go the way. You want to be saved, to be sure, but you will not go the way that has been consecrated through the veil, which is Jesus’ flesh, because this way is the way of self-denial. When people say that they are opponents of the doctrine of Christ manifested in the flesh because it makes Jesus impure or belittles Him, that is often an excuse, a false pretext. The real explanation is that if they were to acknowledge that Jesus Himself fought an intense battle in order to overcome His own will, and they said at the same time that they are following Him, then they too must, of necessity, fight intensely all their lives to deny themselves and their own will. It is actually this battle that people oppose!

2. You are unenlightened on this point. Faith comes by hearing. You have never heard it, or hardly ever. And you haven’t been so zealous and God-fearing that you have found it out yourself. Besides that, you may have been warned against this knowledge and preaching, either by those who are not God-fearing enough and who will not go the way, or by those who have been frightened by such people.

Poor people, who from their hearts are opponents of the way of godliness and of those who walk upon this way of life. They are opponents of people who have given themselves to Jesus Christ heart and soul, who hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and their own lives also, having given up everything they possess in this world in order to follow the steps of Jesus Christ! Poor people, who resist these disciples of Jesus Christ!

It will surely be an amazing day for them—a day without honor—when they must give account before the judgment seat of Christ for their enmity and for all the warnings, alarms and condemnations, all the offense they have caused and the harm they have done to seeking souls!

May God stop such people and be merciful to them. That is my heartfelt desire.
