Horten, March 11, 1907
Dear Parents and Siblings,

I have received Father’s letter, and from it I see that Mother is seeking the baptism of the Spirit, and that Father has received it, as well as the gift of speaking in tongues. I am very happy to hear that—God does great things. Last Saturday, March 9, Br. Berg was baptized in the Spirit. We had knelt down and were praying together—just the two of us alone—when suddenly the Spirit began to slowly shake his body, and this continued with greater and greater force until he was shaking terribly and praising God. So now, after a long stretch of prayer and battle, he has received his Pentecost baptism. He was so happy that he lay awake all night rejoicing.

Br. Sandersen is here again now. We were together yesterday at Bethel, and there was a very good meeting. It has not been easy for him to fathom all of this, but neither can he contradict it. A person can use wisdom to decide when to use tongues; but we must not be so wise that we stop speaking in tongues. For my part, I have spoken in tongues quite often in many different places, and God has blessed it. A gift from God must be used, and used sensibly. We have had wonderful meetings; the power of God has been mightily over the assembly. He has bestowed the Spirit of prayer upon us. God has fulfilled all my desires according to His riches to this day. People are praying everywhere. Even now, at this moment, a woman is upstairs praying loudly. These are strange times. Ps. 107:10-22.

Tell Aksel about Br. Berg; he will be happy to hear that. Ellefsen has changed completely since he was given the gift of interpreting tongues; his faith has become strong.

Warmest greetings to everyone at home. Greet Ludvig and the family.

Yours,

Johan
