God’s grace and peace in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Thanks for your letter. On Easter Monday, Karl Pedersen and I were in Drøbak, together with the friends from Kristiania. We had two blessed meetings.
You wrote that God doesn’t just require a one-time act of obedience, but continual obedience. That is true. Because there are things that dwell in the depths of the heart that are not easy to get to the bottom of. I rejoice that God is working together with us, and that our opposers want to keep the peace with us. If the righteousness of each individual can benefit the church, how much more then will the righteousness of an entire congregation be of benefit through the obedience of faith.
It was a great joy to see the same friends again from Kristiania. There were also some new ones. In Drøbak there are several new converts who now desire instruction. It is moving to see the confidence of the friends, and the Lord confirmed the word through the accompanying signs. A sister had become quite sick, most likely with appendicitis, and she was writhing in pain. We prayed, and God heard our prayers. She immediately got up and praised God and joined the meeting.
God has knit everything together and added more souls, so the love toward one another in the Spirit is stronger today than ever before. Aksel is constantly laboring in the Lord. His body is often put to the test.
As for me, let the Lord’s will be done, because my desire and joy is to live Christ’s life. But there is even a greater joy than this—the joy of seeing that those we have been able to win to Christ by God’s grace walk in truth and are filled with the Spirit of zeal.
Greetings to Judith, your mother, and the friends.
Warm greetings,
Your brother Johan
