God’s Testimony

“He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true.” John 3:33.

When a person testifies, it is not always God’s testimony. Quite often people speak about things they do not understand, and in most cases, things are said about God which are not right. Job 42:3, 7. But Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness.” John 3:11.

Whoever speaks in the church must speak as the word of God. Let him say what he knows and testify of what he has seen—then he will speak as the word of God. No one will be able to refute what he says, because it is the truth itself.

The Spirit of truth, which the world cannot receive, will—together with the water and the blood—produce this testimony within us. He who believes has this witness in himself. He who speaks the word of God, speaks from this testimony in the Holy Spirit.

A person can also speak, according to the conviction of the Spirit, of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. However, the words that come from this conviction are not spoken as the word of God, since the speaker does not bear the testimony of the water and the blood in themself. And yet, such messages are what are most commonly given in our time. That is also the reason they are so weak and powerless. Their multitude of words have no effect. Quite often, there is no man behind these words of whom the Spirit, the water, and the blood can bear witness. They preach their own testimony about God instead of preaching the testimony of God. Consequently, their words return void. God’s word, on the other hand, never returns void.

It’s of very little consequence what a person believes or testifies about God in their own human spirit. What we need is God’s testimony and God’s word.

John bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ. Rev. 1:2. Souls were beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God. Rev. 20:4.

He (Christ) is the One who came with water and blood, and the Spirit bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.

This is the testimony of Christ. Let him who speaks in the church bring this testimony. Then there will be a man behind the words—a man who carries about the death of Christ in his mortal body. The power of the kingdom of God will become evident, and the words will have their effect.

The Spirit is able to testify to every person, and based on that, they can give a sermon. But it is only those who receive the testimony of the Spirit who can certify that God is true. We need men who have certified that God is true. Let such ones have a chance to speak, because the world is sick and tired of hearing people’s opinions about God.
