Dear Br. Elias Aslaksen,
God’s peace.

There are many things to work with and put straight among the people of God. This work requires love, a mind to sacrifice, self-denial, understanding, impartiality, and the insight of wisdom, as well as strength to make judgments in different situations. The question arises: Who is sufficient for these things? Such a person must not act according to their own human tendencies; it must be for them as Sirach says: “As the fat is taken away from the peace offering, so was David chosen out of the children of Israel.”

We have a lot to learn in the body so that we don’t pamper the body but rather present it as a sacrifice, as a spiritual service that is acceptable to God. It is here that God’s manifold wisdom is revealed through the manifold sacrifices that are required of a priest who is zealous for God in His service.

In the kingdom of God we win the great victories by being faithful in the small details of life, and it is this faithfulness that will cast down the religious lawlessness and indifference of our time. We must forge ahead purposefully in this war, because God Himself has placed the keys of knowledge in our hands and has given us the power to cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Our task is not to patch up the old, but to preach God’s Word in its sharpness, so that it can bring forth a mighty people who can proclaim His praises.

Warm greetings.

Your brother,

Johan
