God’s peace.
Thank you for your good letter which I received some time ago. You’ve now completed another long tour of duty up north. It seems like Br. Hågensen is taking over for you. It is remarkable to see how God guides everything.
Br. Thorleif Hansen was in Moldøen for about eight days, and now he is in Ålesund, where he spent Christmas. On Christmas Eve, and the next two days, we were in Moldøen where there’s a small congregation now. Although they are weak, they love the truth. It’s clear to see that Br. Hansen has strengthened them in faith and bound them more firmly together. On the 28th and 29th of December we were in Ålesund where I attended two meetings together with Br. Hansen. They are steadfast, good people in Ålesund, and it was blessed to be at the meetings. We spoke about how it is possible to rejoice in the light for a time without bearing the fruit of the light, but that now we must work in the light so that others can taste the goodness that is in us, brought forth by Jesus Christ our Lord. When light is shed on these different truths, people rejoice; but the difficulty comes when they are required to follow the light. Nonetheless, even on this point they received the word, although we sensed that it was hard for them.
Barratt has been in Ålesund and has spoken in different places. He was also together with the opposers and spoke about sin in the flesh. Now, a young man named Nils Sørensen has been sent up there by Barratt. I hear that there is now a small group of friends in Vardø. May God bless them. The Lord is working together with us everywhere.
We were in Haugesund, and while there I spoke often with Br. Risnes, who has been thinking a great deal about going to Ålesund. May God guide everything according to the good pleasure of His will. I received a letter from Br. Lohne. Greet both of them from me. Perhaps you are in Grimstad right now. I hear that the Viking will divide its time between Haugesund and Bergen. I haven’t found anyone I can speak with in Bergen, but on two occasions, drunken men started up a conversation with me about their lives. Perhaps this is a sign from the Lord that in this town we should begin with those who have fallen deepest. Please keep this in mind when your time comes to travel to Bergen. Tonight is the last night of the year. It has been a horrible year for the countries that are at war, but it has been a blessed year for us. God has done great things this year; therefore we will praise Him.
They rented a room for Br. Hansen in Ålesund. I visited him there one afternoon, and we spoke a great deal together. I have never had such a good chance to speak with him before. He is a very zealous and solid young man, and he is doing a thorough job. The important thing is to persevere with those we have contact with and not let go of them before God has established them and Christ has been formed in them.
All the best. I would really like to hear from you.
I wish you a blessed New Year, and thank you for the past year as well.
Warm greetings from your brother,
