Letter to Elias Aslaksen, 1912/08/06

Collected Writings Volume 2 • 1912 - 1917
Horten, August 6, 1912
Dear Br. Elias Aslaksen,

Thanks for the card. Aksel’s address is: Arsenal Paymaster Christian Smith, Kristiansand. But he will soon be traveling to Denmark. He recently has had an open door to work with some new friends in Kristiansand. A butcher named Gill is very zealous, and he is hoping that someone will visit. God will give us victory. Thanks for the copy of War Cry; I have read the articles about “love” that you underlined. Yesterday we sent out Skjulte Skatter. We sent 10 copies to you. Birkeland, Karl, and I work with getting the paper ready for mailing, which gives us the chance to talk together. There’s a lot to do everywhere. Br. Mikkelsen has been in Porsgrund, where they have tasted something and are longing for more. Br. Larsen, the one with only one arm, asked on their behalf if I would come and visit them. But I’m stuck here.

Greet the friends in Hønefoss. Greet Judith.

Your devoted brother in Christ,

Johan

Father will forward the letters to Aksel.
