Prov. 21:30
“There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the Lord.” Prov. 21:30. All protests, all excuses, all murmuring, all reasoning, using all your gifts and talents against God, against His laws and commandments, against His Word, and against His guidance, etc., is utter folly, which will only result in harming or even destroying you. If we have any wisdom, we have received it from God so that we might live in harmony with Him. We did not receive it to rebel against Him! The kingdom of God is not divided against itself. Therefore, there is no wisdom against the Lord; on the contrary, there is an unlimited amount of wisdom that proceeds from Him and which is for Him.
Therefore, believe the Word and abandon once and for all your imagined cleverness that only serves to delay, harm, and hinder you from entering into wonderful rest and happiness in Him. Oh, how much unnecessary sorrow, suffering, and turmoil you will then spare yourself!
“Better is a handful with quietness . . . .” says the wise man. How will it then be to have perfect rest in God?
The degree of restlessness or lack of perfect rest in God that you or any other person has is in direct proportion to the amount of unbelief and rebellion in your heart.
Every sinner on earth, whether he is religious or worldly, is like a madman who is given to tormenting himself.
There is no better example of the quality of the wisdom of this world directed against the Lord than that which was exhibited by the religious leaders in Jesus’ day when they condemned the Lord of glory, their very best and truest friend, to be crucified outside Jerusalem together with two robbers and murderers. According to their own conceited wisdom, understanding, and counsel, they did the perfectly appropriate thing!
My friend, even if you make the slightest objection against God, it is always the consequence of precisely the same wisdom that was displayed by the high priests, scribes, and the Sanhedrin on that memorable day. It is not very praiseworthy for you to be one of their followers.
We who believe have given up such madness forever; we much prefer to enter into rest in God.
It is good to be there!
