She Beat Out What She Had Gleaned

Each work will be tried by fire. Whatever cannot endure the fire is burned up as chaff. Beating out what I have gleaned is an indication that I have tested and reflected on what I have gleaned. Prov. 2:11. The grain has a connection with the soil by means of the ear and the stalk. Now it must be separated from its earthly connection to become heavenly bread for the new creation. The grain must therefore be beaten out so that all protests against Him who speaks from heaven will fall away like chaff that is to be burned. One day all our works will be tested by fire; therefore it is prudent for us to test and examine each of our works in the Spirit’s light and fire. Thus we reap the knowledge of God and are instructed for the kingdom of heaven. For example, how profitable it is that we read a letter over again before we mail it. Perhaps we will find that the things of true value were wrapped up in a lot of chaff. Then you must beat out that which is noble and let folly go, for this is how you learn to be prudent—by reflecting on your works—and that will preserve you. Let whatever you give to the others be beaten out and pure from the chaff of selfishness and earthly connections.
