The Book of Ruth

Yes, It Is True That I Am a Redeemer; However, There Is a Redeemer Nearer Than I

Verse 12

Boaz was a redeemer; however, there was a redeemer who was nearer in kin. In the meantime, God’s guidance had led Ruth to Boaz. Later it became evident that the nearest redeemer was not able to redeem her.

God has several redeemers among His servants, but many from among the first will be last. This redeemer wanted to redeem the field, but not Ruth. Thus the unprofitable redeemers will always desire the person’s possessions, but they do not want to have any trouble with the person.

Paul preached God’s Word to the Corinthians free of charge, and he wanted to continue to do that in order to cut off the opportunity from the false apostles and deceitful workers, so that when they boasted of being just as capable as he was in all things, they should also be like him in this part. 2 Cor. 11:12.

The servants of Christ receive authority from Him either to loose or to bind; but those who serve only for the sake of bread are powerless. They desire the field, but they let a poor Ruth fend for herself.
