May You Prosper in Ephrathah and Have a Famous Son in Bethlehem
One should value the blessings of the elders and of the people. Jesus increased in years and in wisdom and favor with God and all the people. Boaz was blessed and was a blessing. The elders and all the people desired that Boaz might become an even mightier man than at any time before. We can be certain that he also became that.
They wished that he would have a famous son in Bethlehem. He also begot the most famous sons that have ever lived, and that will ever live.
The prophet says, “But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come a Ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.”
Bethlehem was the city of David, as well as the city in which Jesus was born. Boaz truly had a famous Son in Bethlehem, and Ruth became an ancestress in Israel, just like Rachel and Leah. All this transpired in God’s perfect rest, and with the blessings of the elders and the people.
