And She Bore a Son

The marriage of Boaz and Ruth was a blessing. They also had a son who was blessed even before he was formed in his mother’s womb.

We are baptized with one Spirit to be one body, which is the church. Spiritual children are born in the church when church-life is in harmony with her heavenly Bridegroom. John had spiritual children, and he had no greater joy than this, that his children walked in the truth. Children are eternal beings that we take with us, whereas we must leave everything else behind. Therefore there is no greater joy than that we bring some of them along on the way. The green shoot of the seed is always the greatest joy.

In this world a father is honored when he gets one of his sons into a high position. This is also how our heavenly Father is honored, if we bear much fruit by following closely in our Master’s steps.
