“The Root of David Has Prevailed”

“The Root of David has prevailed . . . .” Rev. 5:5. This is what is so great, amazing, glorious, honorable, and comforting to us, as well as hopeful and faith-strengthening!

That God, in His divine and heavenly majesty, could walk victoriously over the earth is first of all not that imposing, and secondly, it would not help us, it would not give us a reasonable hope of being victorious.

On the contrary! It would only remind us even more of how futile it would before us to think that we could be victorious, or to think of following in His steps!
