“Therefore, That Holy One Who Is to Be Born Will Be Called the Son of God”

Jesus was holy right from His birth, because He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. We are called holy beginning with our rebirth; and we are truly holy if we are faithful to our calling.

This does not mean that we have no self-will; but it does mean that we don’t do our own will. It does not mean that we have no sin, but that we do not commit sin.

If we were to commit sin by being unfaithful, He who was never unfaithful, who never committed sin, has both the right and the power to forgive us our sins because He, the Just One, died for us, the unjust; because He has atoned for all sin; and because He has redeemed us with His own blood. 1 John 2:1-3.
