Unity
“The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.” Matt. 13:33.
She did not say, “Come, let us hold ecuminical meetings so we can become one.” She simply put the leaven in the flour, so that all of it was leavened. This can be compared to the kingdom of heaven; in this way we become one in the kingdom of God.
The leaven is the word of God. “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” John 17:20-22.
The word of God makes us one, and the glory makes us one. When we attain to such unity, the world will believe that the Father has sent His Son.
Through ecumenical meetings we can achieve an outward unity, in the same way that glue can hold things together for a while; however, when the Lord sends a heavy rain shower, the glue dissolves, and everything falls apart because it was a work of man.
From now on, let us hold leavening meetings rather than ecumenical meetings. That will bring success.
