This was another piece of good advice for a beginner. One should always recommend a soul to faithful and tried brothers. Even in the church there are a few active but unfaithful brothers when it concerns working with souls. Therefore one should not let just anyone do this basic work in a soul. Paul says: I have laid the foundation as a wise master builder.

Someone who has not dug deep and received a solid foundation in his own life cannot possibly lay a solid foundation in other people’s lives. Boaz could not take on all the work with Ruth by himself, but we understand his care and insight into the work with souls.
