Naomi was faithful to Ruth. She had led her on the ways of righteousness with insight and understanding. She had not sought her own in what she had purposed to do. Now God was going to reward her likewise with the things in which she had been faithful, just as He punishes a sinner with his own transgressions. Ruth was going to have a son who would refresh Naomi’s soul and support her in her old age.
